Facebook closes in the middle of the night until 6 am

The government is reviewing the closure of Facebook in Bangladesh from midnight to 6am to make students more focused in more education. At the same time the government is thinking of shutting cartoon channels. On March 23, the Cabinet Division sent a separate letter to the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the Ministry of Information on March 23, asking for their views. The government will take the next position on the basis of their opinion.
The Cabinet Division sent the letter in the context of raising the issue at the Deputy Commissioner (DC) conference held in July last year.

Deputy Secretary of the Cabinet Division. Faruque Ahmed signed the letter. He says, 'Using facebook is a public issue for IT. But due to the use of Facebook all night, our students are suffering greatly. Besides, our young generation is losing power and working time. '

Dr. Faruk Ahmed further said, 'Our children are getting addicted to watching cartoon channels in the middle of the night. As a result, they could not be meditated in their studies. This has affected their mind and body. With these thoughts, we decided to stop Facebook and cartoon channels from midnight till 6am.

Confirming the letter, the Secretary of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications Shyam Sunder Shikdar said, "We have sent a letter from the Cabinet Division." We will take appropriate measures after getting the views of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) to keep Facebook shutting down from midnight till 6am.

State Minister for Post and Telecommunication Tarana Halim said, "We received a letter to keep Facebook close. Discussion with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will take necessary measures. But I will tell the parents, watching cartoons or facebooking is not bad but you monitor your children.
